I disagree with Ms. Bacik on issues like multiculturalism and some gender issues, but I think she would be perfect for the Dáil. She has shown a committment to standing up for equality and fairness (particularly for gays and lesbians, but also for immigrants) and for common sense. Her campaign for legalised abortion in this country is incredibly important. She appears to be indefatigueable and her patience when faced with bigots or ignorant folks is admirable. I hope she manages to take a seat in Dun Laoghaire next Friday.
